The Safe-Life Bed Exit Sensor Beam projects an invisible PIR curtain along the bedside, tapering to the floor so staff can move freely around the bed. When a resident swings a leg out, the beam breaks and an alert is sent through the nurse call system.
The system is available in single or dual PIR configurations, depending on whether the bed is accessible on one or both sides. A resident’s pendant cord can also remain connected using the Safe-Life Double Adaptor (A-ADAP-02-S-1).
The Safe-Life Dual Bed Exit Sensor Beam uses two PIR beams to detect when a resident swings a leg out of bed, sending an immediate alert through any nurse call system. Ideal for aged-care facilities needing reliable, non-contact bed exit monitoring.
The Safe-Life Bed Exit Sensor Beam is a non-contact monitoring system that uses passive infra-red (PIR) curtain beams to detect when a resident begins exiting the bed. The dual-PIR model monitors both sides of the bed and integrates directly with any brand of nurse call system in Australia.

The system projects an invisible tapered PIR beam along each bedside. When a resident moves a leg over the bed edge, the beam breaks and triggers the nurse call point instantly.
Each PIR is mounted 35–40 cm from the floor at the head of the bed.
The PIR beam tapers downward, avoiding false alarms from carers walking near the foot of the bed .
When powered on, each PIR self-calibrates for one minute.
The resident begins exiting; their leg breaks the beam.
The nurse call system receives an alert through a 6.35 mm or 3.5 mm connector.
